From April to June of 2020 the Gage Gallery, working with graduate students from the University of Victoria, posted challenging topical themes on a weekly basis and encouraged the public to respond in the form of painting, sculpture or photography. The result was the astonishing receipt of 300 pieces of art from 120 artists, culminating in a physical exhibition put on display in June upon reopening of the gallery.
Creative expression heals. And sharing it with others connects. Draw, paint, doodle, sculpt or write a poem at home about what you are experiencing because of COVID-19. You don't need to be an artist - everybody's contribution is welcome. Take a photo of your creation and send it to us. If you wish, provide a short description of your work. Invite your kids to participate. Our weekly prompt will help you get inspired. Please email a photo of your creation to Ashley Riddett at:
